Clifton Guy Teague, 55, of Houston, Texas, passed away on July 25, 2018.
Clif was born in Santa Ana, CA. His loving parents were Don and Linda Teague. Growing up in small towns in Oklahoma, Clif considered himself an Okie. Later when the family moved to Texas, he graduated from Deer Park High School and Texas A&M University. From Texas A&M, Clif held both a BBA and a Masters of Finance. He was a Certified Public Accountant. Clif started his career at KPMG, moving to Coopers & Lybrand as a tax partner specializing in complex income tax planning and implementation. His career led the family to San Jose, CA with PriceWaterhouse Coopers and finally back to Houston to start his own practice.

Currently, he was a tax shareholder at Doeren Mayhew, where he was considered a leader, role model and an integral part of the organization. Clif was committed to his profession and spent his days nurturing the growth of his clients, as well as his team, to ensure their success. With a passion for learning and sharing his knowledge with those around him, Clifton was also considered a leading tax expert within his field. His peers describe him as a most intelligent, humorous, and thoughtful leader. His quick, dry wit and caring personality will be remembered and missed by many.

Clif was also known as an advocate for the underdog, an extremely hard worker, and a dependable person. He was a clear thinker and advised clients, friends, and family. His most important role, which he dearly cherished, was that of father. Clif’s favorite place to be was where Hallie Maelinda (age 23) and John Austin (age 18) were. Clif was always seen in the bleachers or in the audience, cheering on his children. Their commitment to the principles that he taught them: honesty, hard work, education, humility, and kindness will remain the foundation of their lives. Clif was so proud of them. You only had to be in his presence for a moment or two to realize it.

He is survived by his daughter, Hallie Maelinda Teague; son, John Austin Teague; mother, Linda Huff Teague of Brenham, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Mickey and Anna Teague; nephew and nieces, Matthew, Miranda, and Meagan Teague; brother and sister-in-law, Christopher and Emily Teague; niece and nephews, Marion, Samuel, and Evan.

Clifton was preceded in death by his father, Donald R. Teague and his grandmother Ollie Mae Teague.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hallie and John’s education fund can be made: c/o Mickey Teague, Account 1213326208 Woodforest Bank 10555 Kuykendahl Rd. The Woodlands, TX 77382
