August 10, 1943 - July 12, 2018
Brandon Duane Dick, 74, of Bryan, passed away suddenly in his home on Thursday, July 12, 2018. A Memorial Service honoring his life will be at 10 am, Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Centers. Private Inurnment will follow at College Station Memorial Cemetery Aggie Field of Honor. Cremation Life Tribute Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.
Duane was born on August 10, 1943, to Payton Dick and Nettie Lee Archer Dick in Brown, Texas. He grew up in the San Angelo and Brownwood, Texas areas and graduated from Brownwood High School in 1961. He attended Texas A&M University from 1961 – 1965, where he received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
Upon graduation, he was commissioned to the U.S. Army in the Quarter Master Corps. He served one tour in Vietnam with the 1st Armored Division and then with the 1st Armored Division in Fort Hood, Texas. Duane was Honorably Discharged from active duty in the U.S. Army Reserve with the rank of Captain at Ft. Hood in 1970.
Duane returned to Texas A&M University to complete his Masters degree in Management and worked at Texas A&M University System for over 30 years; serving as Assistant Director in the Office of Planning and Institutional Research and as Management Information Analyst for the Dean of Faculties office until he retired in 2005.
Duane is preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Dolores, in May 1972, and his wife of 49 years, Charlotte Ann Townley Dick in January 2015.
He is survived by his brother-in-law, Randall Townley and wife, Mary Ann; his nieces, Ann-Marie Hartley, Regina K Hebert, Terry Bezjak, and Lisa T. Moore; nephew, Freddie Saunders, Jr.; and a niece and nephew, Patty and David.
It was Duane's wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) https://www.aspca.org
