Nov. 4, 1923 ~ July 8, 2018
Allen Maynard Hughes, 94 of Oklahoma City, OK passed away on July 8, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born on November 4, 1923 to Herman and Bertha Hughes in Voth, Texas.
Allen was an Eagle Scout. He was also an All-State Baseball player in Baumont, TX, where he received a scholarship to Texas A&M College. He also joined the United States Air Force where he fought in World War II at 19 years of age. He flew Bombers all the way up to B52’s and was also a European basketball champ. He had a Master’s in Business Administration and was a very intelligent person who loved people.
Allen is survived by his son, Kevin Hughes and wife Carol from Tuttle, OK; daughter, Beverly Wood and husband, Ken of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren, Chris Wood and wife, Susan, Jessica Paterson and husband, Josh, Travis Hughes and fiancée, Melany, Gregory Carbone, Todd Carbone, Brian Hughes, Jordan Hughes and wife, Susan, Kinden Hughes and Caleb Hughes; sister, Tricia Heald. He is preceded by his wife, Mary “Pat” Hughes; 5 sons, Kelly, Kim, Louis, Richard and Robert Hughes.
The Hughes Family wishes to thank the staff at Legends at Rivendell. They took amazing care of him and made him a family member.
A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 16, 2018 at Lynlee Mae Chapel, 507 E. Main St., Moore, OK. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.
