Dale Richard Hamilton
Birth Date: June 23, 1938 Death Date: July 13, 2018

Dale Richard Hamilton, age 80, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 in his home in Wylie, Texas. He was born in Dallas, Texas to Charles C. and Elsie Hamilton june 23, 1938. Dale graduated from Hillcrest High School in Dallas, Texas, class of ’56. He joined the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M College and played in the Fighting Texas Aggie band (Maroon Band). He graduated in 1961 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Education. Then, went on to work for Stewart Systems in Richardson, TX which changed ownership near the time of his retirement to SAIB Bakery in Plano, Texas. Dale married Shirley Marlow of Dallas, Texas in 1961 and Raised two children in Richardson, Texas. Shirley passed away in 1998. He later married Carol Soden in February 11, 2007 and moved to Wylie, Texas. Dale had been active in the Boy Scouts of America Troop 72 receiving his Eagle Rank in 1953, Scout Master for another Troop receiving his Wood Badge in 1967, and a Charter Organization Rep for Troop 35. He was also involved in the Texas Jaycees and received the Outstanding President’s Cabinet Member Award in 1972.

Dale was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richardson, Texas, Westminster Presbyterian Church of Dallas, Texas, and later became member of First Presbyterian Church Rockwall in Rockwall, Texas and served in the Presbytery as the Treasurer. He went to numerous class and band reunions at Texas A&m University and was Bugle Rank Member of the Texas Aggie Band Association and a Century Club member.

Surviving Dale is his wife Carol; daughter, Linda Smith, and her husband, Dean; son, Mark Hamilton, and his wife, Linda; grandchildren: Camille Munoz, Pearson Smith, Madelyn Smith and Mark Hamilton, Jr.; his step daughter, Beth Snider, and her husband, Tony; step son, James Waddy; step son, Christopher Waddy, and his wife, Melissa; and step grandchildren: Emily Snider, Audrey Morrison, Leslie Snider, Mason Waddy, Kindra Love, Ronnie Love and step grandson-in-law, Kevin Morrison. Dale is also survived by his sister, Carole Cook and her husband, Ken, of Jacksonville, Texas; niece, Jennifer Hess, and her husband, Drew.

Funeral Services will be held on thursday, July 19, 2018 at 2:30 pm at the Restland Memorial Chapel with reverend Randall McGee officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. The family will greet friends from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. Flowers may be sent to Restland Funeral Home and memorials made be made in Dale’s name to First Church Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 692, Rockwall, TX 75087 or Boy Scouts of America.
