Michael George Macklin, 31, died Thursday, June 21 (before sunset), 2018 at his residence in Fort Worth Texas. He was born April 24, 1987 at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, to Mark W. Macklin and Peggy E. (Siems) Macklin. He was a Mechanical Design Engineer for AVX Aircraft, Benbrook Texas where he contributed to the engineering and design of new and innovative helicopters. Michael graduated from Texas A&M in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology. For his senior design project, he participated in the Formula Hybrid competition held by the Society of Automotive Engineers International (SAE) where they took first place. In high school, Michael participated in Junior Army ROTC and became battalion commander his senior year. His desire was for a career in the military like his mother, but his eyes would not pass military requirements. He graduated with honors from Crestview High School, Florida in 2005. Survivors include his father, Mark W. Macklin and wife Hilary of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his mother, Captain Peggy E. Siems, USAF (ret) of Oliver Springs, Tennessee; his sister, Kelly A. Fenrick of Oliver Springs, Tennessee; his brother Kevin B. Macklin of Duluth, Georgia; his grandparents, Lester and Ellen Macklin of Bedford, Massachusetts; his aunt, Ann Macklin of Forest Hills, New York; his cousin Ruby Macklin of Forest Hills, New York; his uncle Kurt A. Siems and wife Beth of Stockton, Missouri; his cousin Kristen Doeden and husband Clay of Stockton, Missouri; and his cousin Kyle Siems of Stockton, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Major Leon J. (USAF ret) and Pauline E. (Portschy) Siems.
