Jari Gaye Parker
November 12, 1968 - June 4, 2018

Jari Gaye (Jones) Parker passed away Monday, June 4, 2018. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Crestview Church of Christ, 7129 Delhi Rd. The family will be available to receive visitors from 9:15 - 10:15. Interment will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2018 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Drive.

Jari was born November 12, 1968 in Cincinnati, OH. Her parents, Andrew Claude Jones, Jr. and Sandra Sue Jones raised her to have a spirit of caring for others. Her servant heart showed throughout her life, whether it was teaching Sunday school, chaperoning youth functions at church, or helping with the Mission Waco Toy Store.

In January of 1992, she and Wayne Parker met while working together in College Station where they were both attending school at Texas A&M University. There was an immediate connection and love for each other, and less than six months later they were married on July 18, 1992 at the Robinson Church of Christ. Jari eventually earned her BA in Sport Management from Texas A&M in May 2016.

She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Jones.

Jari and Wayne loved each other for 26 years, resulting in four wonderful children-- Jace, Jackson, Jordan and Jamison. Jari was a wonderful, loving mother. She loved watching Jace and Jackson performing on stage, Jordan playing softball, basketball, and pole vaulting, and Jamison's love of animals and wonderful hugs.

Besides Wayne and the children, Jari leaves behind her mother, Sandra Jones; her sister, Lisa Carroll and husband, Steve; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charlene and Tommy Parker; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; as well as friends in the present and the past, and a classroom full of 2nd graders at Chilton Elementary.

The family would like to thank the nurses and physicians at Scott and White Medical Center in Temple. Much respect and dignity was shown to our family during this time.
