James Kerr
Born November 20, 1937 Dallas Texas, passed away peacefully June 16, 2018 in Roseville, CA. Beloved husband for 31 years, of Nancy Sullivan Kerr. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, sister, Carla Kerr Allen, of San Marcos, TX along with her husband, Henry Allen and two nephews Irad and Barton Allen.
After graduation from Texas A & M University, Jim joined the army as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1959. He served his country for fourteen years, achieving the rank of Major. His tours of service included two combat tours in Vietnam, along with assignments to Germany and Jakarta, Indonesia. Jim earned a Master’s in Public Administration from Roosevelt University in Chicago. In 1974 he began a career in contract security services. He earned a lifetime designation as a Certified Protection Professional while working as Security and Safety Director for Sutter Health.
Jim loved many things, not the least, golf. As an early member of Serrano Country Club, he got the first hole in one. He played all over the world, and was a member of Cameron Park Country Club. He volunteered with the First Tee of Greater Sacramento and loved scoring the young players rounds.
