Robbie Reynolds
September 3, 1954 - June 16, 2018

Robbie Ray Reynolds, 63, of Bokchito, Oklahoma, passed away June 16, 2018, at his home. He was born September 3, 1954, to Robert and Peggy (Cobb) Reynolds in Prosper, Texas. Robbie grew up in Prosper and graduated from Prosper High School in 1973. While attending Texas A&M University, he met and married the love of his life, Sharon Lavon (Dunn) Reynolds, on August 23, 1975. They both graduated from Texas A&M in 1977 with degrees in Agronomy. Upon graduation, they returned to Prosper to farm, his passion since childhood. After closing out the farm operation in 2007, he became a rancher in Oklahoma and his natural talent and love for cattle earned him a reputation for acquiring and raising quality stock. And as a farmer, no one had straighter rows, cleaner fields, or more loyal landlords. His reputation as a fair and honest man in all aspects of his life was exceeded only by his tender heart and spirit of service and generosity. He served on the Prosper ISD Board of Trustees for 18 years from 1986-2004, and was president from 1994-2000. In honor of that service, a middle school was named after him and his dad, who also served on the Board for 18 years. Robbie was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Prosper, where he was baptized at the age of nine. He and Sharon moved their letter to the Utica Baptist Church when they moved to Oklahoma and he was ordained as a deacon on July 22, 2018. Robbie also served on the Collin County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and as the secretary for the Prosper Co-op Gin Board of Directors.

He worked hard but, loved to have fun. Robbie enjoyed hunting, fishing and introducing young people to the skills they needed for life. He was a man’s man and bigger than life – he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The many stories you all share with the family and each other in the coming days will bring comfort and keep his legacy alive. Robbie loved the Lord with all his heart and was never embarrassed to remove his hat and bow his head in prayer at the dinner table wherever he was. It was not for show, but because his relationship was personal. He had a strong will, some would call it stubborn. Robbie liked to do things Robbie’s way and Sharon jokingly always said it was part of living in “Robbie’s world.” His way, fortunately, was usually right and led by prayer. He loved his westerns and it could be said that Robbie was one of the last of that dying breed of man whose word was his bond, whose handshake was the only contract needed, who did what he said he would do, and who was there if you needed him, no matter the time of day or night. He was a faithful husband, proud father, committed and loving family man, and a friend to all.

He is survived by his wife Sharon Reynolds of Bokchito, Oklahoma, and their daughter, Tamra Kay Reynolds of Denver, Colorado; father, Robert Reynolds of Prosper, Texas; sister, Shana Wortham and brother-in-law Reavis Wortham of Frisco, Texas; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces; and many cousins, numerous family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Cobb Reynolds and his maternal and paternal grandparents, in addition to his mother-, father-, and brother-in-law.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 21,2018 at First Baptist Church Prosper, 601 S. Church St., Prosper, TX 75078. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Utica Baptist Church Building Fund, 16 Martin Lane, Bokchito, OK 74726.
