David Henry McGee III
February 12, 1951 - May 27, 2018

David Henry McGee III was called home to the Lord on Sunday, May 27, 2018 due to complications following a recent accident.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday, June 1st at their home at 898 Newt Patterson Road Mansfield, Texas.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, June 2 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church, Mansfield
A resident of Mansfield for 30 years, David was born in Malvern, Arkansas, grew up in Houston, Texas and Omaha, Nebraska where he graduated from Westside High School. David served in the Corp of Cadets at Texas A&M University, graduating in 1973, going on to earn a PhD in Pharmacology from Northeast Louisiana University. David enjoyed a successful career as a Toxicologist doing research and development for several organizations including IRDC in Kalamazoo, Michigan; Alcon Labs in Fort Worth, Texas and Reckitt Binckiser.
Devoted to the Lord, David was involved in Coaches Outreach Bible Study, Bible Study Fellowship and SBTC Disaster Relief Ministry. He enjoyed many other activities including soccer, as coach and referee; kick boxing, gun collecting, as well as volunteering for the the mentoring program at Imogene Gideon Elementary School.
David could often be found strolling the aisles and tasting the samples at Sam’s Club.
SURVIVORS: Wife of 44 years, Laurie Pearson McGee, four sons David H. McGee IV and wife Claudia, Charles Pearson McGee and husband Spencer Turnbull of Los Angeles, Ca, John McGee of Austin, Tx and Matthew McGee and Adriana Piedra of Mansfield, Tx; grandson Matthew Diego McGee; brother George McGee of Ware, Ma and sister Melanie McGee of Longview, Tx.
