Born February 14, 1927 in San Francisco, California he became a Texas Aggie before serving in the Army during World War ll. Joe then joined the Air Force followed by the Air Force Reserves until 1957. His love for planes continued into a career at Boeing moving from Bellevue to Alabama then back to Bellevue again where he settled for over 60 years. Joe continued his life-long fascination with WWll aircraft as he spent many hours reading and watching documentaries. He was also a teacher in the Bellevue and Lake Washington school district for many years before finally retiring. He was a loyal soccer and sports fan and coached his boys and many kids in Newport Hills.
He was the beloved husband of Lucille Prior for more than 60 years and father of two sons, David and Douglas and cat Snowy, he is survived by all. He lived a long and happy life to the age of 91 before passing away on May 8, 2018. Joe will be missed by friends and family, Snowy and the Jelly Belly company.
Black licorice was his favorite.
