November 14, 1947 - June 01, 2018
Terry Lance Koy, 70, passed away peacefully Friday, June 1, 2018, surrounded by his family at home in Sealy, Texas. He was a devoted husband; a loving father and grandfather; a caring big brother, brother-in-law and uncle; and a dear friend. Terry was a brilliant, hard working man with a wonderful sense of humor and a zest for life.
Terry was born November 14, 1947, in Sealy to Frank and Audrey Koy. He graduated from Sealy High School in 1966. Terry attended Texas A&M University where he graduated honors cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1970.
Terry and Sheila Sauer married on May 29, 1971 and were blessed with three children. Terry worked at Koy Concrete as an executive and partner for 43 years until his retirement in 2015. Terry would tell you he was a fortunate man; he genuinely loved what he did. The best part of his career without a doubt was the people he worked with through the years.
Terry was an avid reader, had a passion for learning, enjoyed traveling, and loved Aggie Football!
Terry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sheila Sauer and their beloved children and grandchildren: Amy and her daughter Audrey; Kara Williams and her husband Brook and their children Bradley and Annabelle; Lance and his wife Katie and their daughter Jane; siblings and their spouses: Candy and Chuck Easterling; Faith and Lonny Schneider; Weldon and Sue Anne Koy. Terry was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Audrey Koy.
The visitation will be at the First United Methodist Church of Sealy on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. The funeral will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers to honor Terry’s memory, donations may be made to the Virgil and Josephine Gordon Memorial Library in Sealy, or the First United Methodist Church of Sealy.
