Harrison Matthew Hughes

Harrison Matthew Hughes barged into this world on August 20, 1993, in College Station, Texas to Matthew Donald and Amy Michelle Hughes. He exited much too soon on May 16, 2018, at the age of 24. He left a loving family who will miss him every day.

Harrison graduated from Katy High School in 2012 where he participated in football and tennis. He attended Criswell Bible College and Texas A&M Galveston before the onset of his illness. Harrison worked for Funeral Directors Life Insurance Company in Abilene before his return to Houston for healthcare.

In his free time, Harrison enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He had a huge love for classic rock music on old vinyl records. Harrison never met a stranger and made friends with anyone and everyone, even animals and pets of all kinds. Harrison enjoyed traveling and spending time in the mountains where he loved to snowboard.

Harrison is survived by his father Matthew Donald Hughes; his mother, Amy Michelle Hughes; and his two sisters, Madelyn and Natalie Hughes. Also, surviving Harrison are two sets of grandparents, Don and Michelle Hughes of Katy and Ray and Gaylene Templeton of Abilene and an extended family of great-grandmothers, aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition, Harrison also left behind a daughter, Amanda Alaine Abbey, 6.

His family and lifelong friends will be celebrating Harrison’s much too brief life with memories of a unique and gifted young man at a memorial service held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Parkway Fellowship Church, located at 27043 FM 1093, Richmond TX with Pastors Mike McGown and Adam Jungeblut officiating.
