Cynthia Louise Holt
04/11/1962 - 05/29/2018

In the early hours of Tuesday, May 29, 2018, Cynthia “Cindy” Louise Cooper Holt went to cater a meal in Heaven.

Cindy was born April 11, 1962 to James and Tina Cooper in Pleasanton, Texas. As a child Cindy was fearless, dependable, and thoughtful. She always was eager to do the right thing and to be the “helper”. It was while growing up in Jourdanton and working irrigation with her dad that her “do-right-no-matter-what” work ethic began to develop.

This work ethic earned her a degree from Texas A&M University. During her time at A&M, Cindy worked as a manager and time-keeper for the men’s track team. It was there that she met Gregory Alan Holt. On August 18, 1984, after dating Greg for two years, Cindy got to marry her “best friend”. Later that month, Cindy began her life-long career of teaching.

Most of her career was spent teaching Special Education at Brownfield High School’s Training Center. Cindy was an organizer, a determined teacher, a loyal friend, and believed everyone was capable of being taught and had something to contribute.

Whether it be catering Senior Saints’ meal at church, cheering on the Brownfield Cubs, or taking care of her family, Cindy was a devoted servant of Christ and a supporter of the kids and school where she taught. Cindy also had a healthy pair of lungs and could be heard rooting for those she loved and sometimes fussing at missed calls by the referees.

She is survived by her mother, Tina Cooper; husband, Greg Holt; children, Greyson, Taylor, Kori, and Sloane Holt; siblings, James “Jim” Cooper, and Carl and Marylin Cooper Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her father, James E. Cooper.

Rejoicing in her victory, family and friends will celebrate her 56 years of life and her freedom from cancer Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Brownfield Church of Christ.

Memorials
In lieu of flower, Cindy requested memorial contributions be made to either Hospice of Lubbock, (www.covenanthealth.org/hospice-of-lubbock) or the Brownfield Church of Christ Scholarship Fund for Camp Blue Haven campers and Leadership Training for Christ (LTC) participants (502 Lubbock Rd, Brownfield, TX 79316, www.brownfieldchurchofchrist.org).
