Daniel Peter Harris
Born: January 22, 1988
Died: August 14, 2012
Location: Texas

On Tuesday, August 14, 2012, while at his home in San Antonio, Daniel Peter Harris suddenly passed away in his sleep from natural causes. He was born on January 22, 1988 in Savannah, Georgia, and lived much of his life in Beaverton, Oregon, and in various cities in Texas. He was a senior at Texas A&M University.

Daniel's presence here on earth was all too brief in human terms.
His easygoing, gracious and quiet manner made him an absolute pleasure to be around.
His talent and knowledge, along with his patient and calm demeanor,
enabled him to guide his pupils, both young and old,
during guitar lessons or solving the mysteries of computers.
He was never quick to judge,
reminding us to walk in the other guy's shoes before expressing our opinions.
Music was his passion and solace, but Kirby was the true love of his life.
She lit up his world like no one else could.
They complemented each other's personalities and artistic abilities.
We never heard a harsh word pass between them.
Most go their entire lives and do not experience such a special, loving relationship.
We are so blessed that such a tender love was there for them,
very much akin to Christ's love for us.

Having Daniel as a son was a blessing. Although his stay was short, it was ever so sweet.
He deeply loved his sister, Jess, and they became best friends.
His grandparents, aunts and uncles looked forward to his visits and dearly loved him.
His cousins were more like siblings to him, saying every day with Daniel was a good day.

He loved Kirby and cherished the time they spent together.
He loved animals, especially kitties and all manner of sea creatures,
even praying for a sick fish in his aquarium.
He loved adventure, excitement and a spirited conversation.
He loved to explore ideas and new ways to solve problems.
He loved to share his time and thoughts with those who mattered most.
He loved sunsets, the beach, firecrackers, and cuddling on a rainy day.
When experiencing these simple pleasures, remember him and what he loved most.

What would Daniel want us to do now?
Slow down, relax, and spend time with those who matter most.
Live our lives to the fullest each day and
pursue close relationships with family and friends.

Now he is living the good life with his Aunt Trish in Heaven and
wants us to join him when our time comes.
Let us stay true to each other and to God
as we honor Dan and love each other in all the days to come.

His family members include his parents, Peter and Beth Harris; sister, Jessica Harris Stepaniak; brother-in-law, Alan Stepaniak; Miss Kirby Crone, the love of his life; grandparents, Johnny and Anita Harris and Charles and Betty Waldrop; uncles and aunts, Steve and the late Patricia Harris, Roy and Lynn Smithberg, Jake and Vivian Waldrop, and Jim and Cynthia Waldrop; cousins, Kyle, Nichole, and William Harris, Jess Hogan Waldrop, Graham Waldrop, and Justin and Amanda Smith; and his beloved and loyal cats Oliver, Halle and Clu.
A celebration of Daniel's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 25 at
