Don was the only child of Rollin Robert Bozeman and Mary Porter Cathey Bozeman, born in Coleman, Texas on October 4, 1936. After retirement, Don and Lanita moved to Lake Brownwood, where they lived for 10 years before moving to Manor.

Don was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge, Humble Lodge #979, and the Lake Houston Shrine Club. Don loved to hunt, fish, and spend his time building all kinds of projects while tinkering in his workshop.
