William "Bill" E Loyd
April 17, 2018

William (Bill) Everette Loyd passed into the loving arms of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ on April 17, 2018. He fought a courageous fight against cancer and after four long years, he finished the race well as a faithful servant and disciple of Jesus Christ. Bill was such a strong, passionate and wise husband, father, brother and Granddad. He led with confidence and loved with all of his heart.

Bill was born September 6, 1946 in Pittsburgh, California to his mother, Ola Mae Eddings and his father, Grady Loyd. He was raised in Deer Park, Texas, where he graduated from high school in 1965. He went on to Texas A&M University where he served in the United States Navy and completed two tours of duty in Vietnam. While in Vietnam he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal with “Combat V”, and earned the Navy Pistol Expert Medal. Upon completion of his military service he returned to A&M and graduated with a degree in Industrial Distribution in 1973.

Bill married the love of his life, Barbara White on May 1, 1982. They were married for 36 years. God blessed them with two beautiful daughters, Alison Lanzillotti & Valerie Draper, and son in law, Joe Lanzillotti, who all reside in the Spring area. Bill had a special place in his heart for his three grandchildren, Leo & Chance Lanzillotti and Lily Draper. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ola Mae Eddings, father, Grady Loyd, and infant sister Pamela. He leaves behind his brother and battle buddy, Ricky Lynn Loyd and numerous nephews, nieces, and loving brother and sister in laws. He was loved by so many and served his family faithfully during all seasons.

Bill served as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Floway Pumps & Burks Pumps before founding Pumps & Equipment of Texas, Inc. in Houston in 1993. He & Barbara were also instrumental in establishing Vision Equipment in Houston, Texas. He was the exclusive distributor for Fairbanks Morse Pumps until 2016.

He served as President on the Terranova West Water Board for over a decade and was instrumental in the development of the neighborhood park, which was recently named in honor of him, Bill Loyd Park.

He was a member of WoodsEdge Community Church, where he strengthened his relationship with God and served as a devoted warrior on the Cancer Care Team. Cancer Care is where Bill found his calling and began to carry out his cross ministry that impacted many lives.

Through his last years of battle he was lovingly cared for and supported by his Houston Methodist Hospital team, who soon became family. Thank you for your continuous prayers, care and support.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Bill Loyd Memorial Fund which will go towards the Making Room Building Fund at WoodsEdge Community Church. This will honor his wishes to continue supporting the growth of the church community he loved so much.
