March 6, 1939 – April 19, 2018

Orville “Lee” Price, 79, of College Station passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 from complications from Alzheimer’s. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 10:00am at Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers in Bryan. Burial will follow at the Aggie Field of Honor.

Lee was born on March 6, 1939 in Abilene to Walter and Letha (Burton) Price. He and his sister, Mary, were raised by his grandparents Lemuel C. and Lou Alice Burton in Hawley, TX, where he graduated from Hawley High School in 1957. He joined the Army in 1957 and retired as a Master Sergeant (E-8) in August 1979. While in the Army stationed in the Panama Canal Zone, he met and married his wife Karen Lee Nadeau, and they had two sons, Michael & Steven. After his second tour in Vietnam, he was assigned to the Military Science Department at Texas A&M and they set down permanent roots in College Station with his wife taking a permanent job in the Registrar’s Office at Texas A&M. After his military retirement, he came back to Texas A&M and worked as a student worker at a Military Property Office while attending TAMU. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Industrial Arts in 1980 and 1982. In 1981, Lee went to work as a teacher at Bryan High School teaching Woodworking, Metalworking, History, Electronics, and Computer Applications before retiring in 2006. He also worked part-time in the Tool Department at Sears and as an usher at Reed Arena for special events.

He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Letha; grandparents Lemuel and Lou Alice; sister Mary Hazleton; half-brother John Price; and seven aunts and uncles.

Lee is survived by his wife of 52 years, Karen; sons Michael and wife Janine of Lincoln, CA, Steven and wife Rachael of Yorktown, VA; granddaughters Kori Davila, Makina LaFleur, and Masen Price; half-sister Karen Sue Murphee of Abilene; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org or to the charity of your choice.

A very special thanks to Hudson Creek Alzheimer’s Special Care Center and their entire staff, and to Seth, Fran, Mike and Jessica from Encompass Hospice for all the wonderful care and attention they gave to Lee.
