John H. Miller

Birth: Sep. 10, 1913
Death: Sep. 21, 1993

From Tales & Trails of Bailey County, the First 70 Years, Taylor Publishing Co, Dallas, TX 1988

John and Bee Miller and their two sons, Rex and Mike, moved to Muleshoe in June, 1954, from Henrietta, Texas, where John had been Clay County Agricultural Agent for twelve years.
John came to Muleshoe to be the wholesale agent for Continental Oil Company, and Bee taught fifth grade at Mary DeShazo Elementary School.
In 1964, John became the agent for Big N Fertilizer Company in conjunction with the oil business. In 1957, Bee started teaching typing and shorthand in High School and taught there until 1976 when she retired from teaching after finishing thirty years. John retired from Conoco in 1975, and from the fertilizer business in 1977.
All four are members of the First Baptist Church where John taught a boy's Sunday School class and Bee taught a girl's Sunday School class.
Rex graduated from Muleshoe High School in 1961 and Mike graduated from Muleshoe High School in 1964. Rex graduated from Texas University in 1966 and received a Ph.D. from Texas A&M in 1977. Mike graduated from West Texas State in 1969.
On November 2, 1967, Mike married Pamela St. Clair. They now have four children: Kurt, Kristine, Scott and Jon Colby. Kristine is spending this school year in the Wesphalia area of West Germany where she is a Rotary exchange student.
On June 26, 1977, Rex married Malyna Jamison. They now have two boys, William Rex and Jameson Bret.
In 1956 we bought a small acreage just at the edge of Muleshoe where we still live. John and Mike are partners in a stock farming operation at Lazbuddie. (Submitted by Bee Miller)
