John Miller
August 29, 1966 - January 29, 2018

John was born August 29, 1966 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Sharon and John Miller. With a mischievous sparkle in his eye, John made the most of his early years in Lincoln, growing up as the only boy in a family of five children. His family moved to Houston, Texas in 1981, and John graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1985. John attended Texas A&M University, graduating in 1989 with a degree in Accounting. While in College Station he became a proud Aggie and met his future wife, Judy McCoy. After graduating, John relocated to the DFW area to begin his career in the consumer finance industry. John and Judy were married in 2002 and made their home in Coppell, Texas. While there, John also pursued his longtime passion for real estate and earned his Real Estate Broker’s License. At the time of his death, John was part of the Market Street Enterprise, where he facilitated many a smile with his kind heart and strength in service to others.

John was a devoted husband to Judy, who was also his best friend, confidant and beautiful wife of almost 16 years. He was also a beloved son, a caring brother, a one-of-a-kind uncle, and a loyal friend. Those who knew him best loved him for his quick wit, absolute sincerity and incredible generosity of heart. Along with his wry smile and easy chatty way, John was always the first to offer assist, giving selflessly and without a second thought.

He will long be remembered for his absolute devotion to, and love for his dogs, Patches, Baxter and Frankie; and his enthusiasm for college and professional football, including his beloved Aggies, Nebraska Cornhuskers and Dallas Cowboys. He had an appreciation for life’s simple pleasures; long visits on the back porch, Judy’s fabulous cooking (small portions of course), and time spent with family and friends.

John passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on January 29, 2018, with his wife and sister by his side. He was taken from us much too soon and will be truly and forever missed.

He is survived by his wife, Judy McCoy Miller; mother, Sharon McCabe; father, John Miller; grandmother, Bernice McCabe; sisters, Tiffani Cary (Dan), Faith Dymek (Mark), Charity Howarth and Hope Dymek (Joel); aunt, Barbara Little and uncle, Dale Miller; cousins, Cindi Phillips, Greg Graves, Christi Owen, Kari Newport, Lori Parks and Matt Little; and twenty-four nephews and nieces, Taylor, Ryanne, Carson, Cooper, Payton, Mackenzie, Austin, Myles, Harrison, Katherine, Luke, Jackson, Grace, Nolan, Madison, Olivia, Benjamin, Lilly, Ty, Chase, Evelyn, Kinsey, Ada and Ayla.

John was preceded in death by his grandparents; Leslie and Mary Miller, Ella and Virgil Henke, and Tom McCabe; uncle, Mike Little; aunt, Thomassina “Tommie” and uncle, Roger Graves; and niece, Angel Siena McCoy.

A rosary will be held at Mulkey-Mason Funeral home, Lewisville, Texas on Saturday, February 10th at 1:00 p.m., with visitation to follow from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be sent to the John Miller Memorial Fund in order to help with accrued medical expenses.
