Dalton Thomas Mustard, age 27, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 26, 2018.
Dalton was born July 15, 1990 to his loving parents Thomas and Denise Mustard, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was the youngest of three children and was adored by his two older sisters Julia and Cristin. He graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 2009, where he enjoyed playing football, participating in 4H, and competing in 4H shooting sports earning two State Championships. He was also actively involved in both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Upon graduation from high school, he became the proudest member of the fighting Texas Aggie Class of 2013. While at Texas A&M College Station, Dalton pursued a degree in Construction Science, where he completed an internship with David Weekly homes in Houston and developed a passion for building. Also while at A&M, he made many lasting friends and brothers through his active membership in the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. After graduation, Dalton worked for various homebuilders in Corpus Christi, finally landing his dream job as a Construction Manager for Coventry Homes in Houston in 2017.
Dalton was an avid sportsman, enjoying all types of outdoor activities including hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed time spent outdoors with his beloved father, brother in-laws and friends. He also enjoyed watching and participating in all types of sports and had an extraordinary knowledge of sport statistics. Dalton’s personality and quick wit matched his larger than life persona. He had a laugh that was contagious and a smile that could brighten anyone’s day. He valued his friendships and always saw the best in people. He loved his role of being Uncle D to his niece and nephews whom he adored. His gentle spirit and kind heart will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
Dalton is survived by his parents Thomas and Denise Mustard of Corpus Christi, Texas. Sister Julia Fragoso and husband Stacey of Spring, Texas. Sister Cristin Matula and Husband Dustin of Fulshear, Texas. Nephews Brady Matula and Whit Fragoso, and Niece Ellyson Matula. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother Jean Mustard of Amarillo, Texas, and his maternal grandmother Jean Holliman of Borger, Texas and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Dalton was preceded in death by his paternal Grandfather Jack Mustard, and his maternal Grandfather Floyd Holliman, and his cousin Daniel Gaytan.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 2nd at 10:00 am at Faith United Methodist Church 4600 FM 359, Richmond, Texas 77406. The service will take place at 11:00 am, followed by a reception at the church.
For family and friends in Borger and Amarillo, a visitation will be held Sunday March 4th from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Minton-Chatwell Funeral Home in Borger, Texas. The graveside service and internment will be Monday March 5th, at 11:00 am at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas.
To honor Dalton’s love of animals, donations may be made in his name to The Boston Terrier Rescue of Texas or the animal rescue of your choice.
