Samuel SPANGLER(1939 - 2018)
SPANGLER, Dr. Samuel C. 1939-2017 Spangler, Dr. Samuel Carter, age 77, passed away on December 28, 2017. A longtime resident of Austin, Texas, Sam was born December 29, 1939 in Bryan, Texas to Harold and Ann Spangler. After high school, Sam joined the Marine
Corps as a reserve. He later became a licensed mortician and worked in Port Arthur, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University and graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. He then went on to attend the Veterinary School at Texas A&M University
and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1972. He joined his father's practice located in Austin upon graduation and practiced veterinary medicine at that same location for 45 years. Sam was devoted to the animals that he cared for throughout
his time as a veterinarian. He is survived by his son, Seth Spangler, daughter Susan Wienert and husband Kyle and their children Carter and Everett; and daughter Andrea Rosenbusch and husband Mark and their children Ryley, Lillian and Mason. In lieu of flowers,
the family requests that donations be made to the Austin Humane Society.
