Kevin Ray Hugghins
September 19, 1973 - February 1, 2018

Funeral Services for Kevin Ray Hugghins, 44, of McKinney, Texas will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, Rusk, Texas, under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Wade Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Stonebridge United Methodist Church, 1800 S. Stonebridge Drive, McKinney, Texas.

Mr. Hugghins passed away February 1, 2018 surrounded by friends and family. He was born September 19, 1973 in San Angelo, Texas to Glenn and Peggy Hugghins. He graduated from Rusk High School in 1992 and went on to Texas A & M University to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He went on to join the Department of Public Safety in 1997. He served as Highway Patrol Trooper then Sergeant before promoting to Lieutenant in the Office of Inspector General.

He loved spending time with friends and family. He enjoyed travel and sports, helping coach Mallory’s softball team and watching Landry’s games.

He is predeceased by his grandparents, Arville and Lorene Hugghins, and Clyde and Beatrice Powell. He is survived by his parents, wife, Courtney Hugghins, McKinney, children, Landry and Mallory Hugghins, McKinney, father and mother in law, David and Kathy Carruth, Fort Worth, sister and brother-in-law, Gary and Sandra Wells, Flower Mound, TX, brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Jenny Hugghins, Rusk, 10 nieces and nephews as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Cody Bryant, AP Davidson, Joe Williams, Eric Keith, Adam Hall, Lee Wright, Derek Thomas, Larry Hooper, Ben Harris, Brian Hudler, Robert Stovall, and Ken Dotson.

Donations may be made to Texas DPS Troopers Foundation, www.dpstf.org, or The American Cancer Society.
