Stanley Dorbandt Carroll
September 25, 1954 - January 7, 2018
Stanley Dorbandt “Dorb” Carroll, age 63, of Grand Prairie, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018. Dorb passed peacefully into heaven surrounded by his family. Dorb was born on September 25, 1954 in Dallas, Texas to Dr. Don and Peggy Carroll. Dorb’s early years were spent in Lampasas, Texas where his dad practiced medicine. In 1969, the Carroll family moved to Palestine, Texas. After graduation from Palestine High School in 1972, he entered Texas A&M University where he earned a Political Science degree in 1976. Dorb attended and graduated law school at South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. Following law school, Dorb entered the private of law in Palestine and served as Anderson County Attorney. During this time, he married the love of his life, the former Lacey Ann Hassell of Palestine. Dorb and Lacey were blessed with a son, Jordan. The Carroll family moved to Grand Prairie, Texas and their home was again blessed with the birth of son, Jay. Dorb worked as a prosecutor with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office. Following his time as a prosecutor, Dorb worked as an independent landman in the oil and gas industry, most recently for Jessup Energy Land, LLC.
For his entire life, Dorb loved sports and competition. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a devoted follower of his Texas Aggies. As Dorb passed through this life he made long-enduring friendships at every stop. From Lampasas to Palestine to College Station to Grand Prairie--family and lifelong friends and colleagues are mourning his passing. But, at the same time, each of those who had the honor and pleasure of knowing and loving Dorb know that they have been enriched beyond measure by Dorb’s kind heart and gentle spirit.
Dorb was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Donald W. Carroll and Peggy Dorbandt Carroll; and his wife, Lacey Hassell Carroll. He is survived by his two loving sons, Jordan Carroll of Arlington, Texas, Jay Carroll and wife Brittani of Grand Prairie, Texas; and his loving sister, Maurine Carroll DeShazo and husband Kent of Elkhart, Texas. Dorb is also survived by one grandchild, Nolan Carroll; a niece, Peggy Paul and family; and a nephew, Will DeShazo and family.
Memorial services for Dorb Carroll are scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Keith Watson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.

Stanley Dorbandt “Dorb” Carroll, age 63, of Grand Prairie, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018. Dorb passed peacefully into heaven surrounded by his family.
