Frank Paul Madura, Jr.
Scottsdale - Frank Paul Madura, Jr., 80, passed away December 31, 2017. A memorial mass will be held Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Franciscan Renewal Center in Scottsdale at 7:00PM.
Frank was born to Frank Paul Madura and Kathryn Armatis Madura on April 27, 1937 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Madura Gordon and her husband, Seymour Gordon. Survivors include his brother, David Madura
and Dave's wife, Betty Madura, six nephews, one niece, and a large family of Phoenix friends. After growing up in Tulia, Texas, Frank went to Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas (Texas A&M University) on a track scholarship. He received his BS and
MEd at Texas A&M before starting his coaching career at Ennis, Texas. After two years of service in US Army, he continued his coaching career at Phoenix Union High School and Camelback High School until his retirement. Frank was a Charter member of the Casa
Sunday night chili team for Andre House. He became a site administrator and continued to volunteer several days a week after his retirement. In 2007 he was the volunteer of the year and awarded the Prophet Amos Award for social justice by the Catholic Charities
of the Dioceses. He volunteered his musical talents at the CASA and served in the choir for many years and provided music at daily mass, and he was also a cantor at Our Lady of Joy in Carefree. In addition to his dedicated volunteerism he was an avid golfer,
hiker, camper and lover of nature. He was loved and cherished by all who came in contact with him.
