Clay Buck McCreary, DVM, 55 of Sugar Land, TX died Monday, January 15, 2018 at 3:54 a.m. of Acute Myeloid Leukemia at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center. Clay was born on May 20, 1962 in Bryan, Texas. He received his Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Science and
Animal Science from Texas A&M University at College Station in 1992 and 1994 respectively. He then went on to complete his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, also from Texas A&M in 1999. Part of Clay's youthful experience was life on the farm, which he enjoyed
immensely. As a result he went on to practice Veterinary Medicine for both large animals and small. As he'd like to say, he's worked on everything from turtles to tigers. Prior to his college experiences, he proudly served in the US Marine Corp as an Expert
marksman and Meteorologist. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant during his first enlistment. Clay was an avid hunter, traveler, fisherman, history buff and scientist. He loved God, family and country.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Karon Gale McCreary, DVM and Lynda Lee (Buffington) McCreary. He is survived by his wife, Mercedes (Howell) McCreary, siblings Charla Lee Chaplin, Jana Rae and Ryan Penney McCreary. He is also survived by his son Juddsen
and daughter Sarah McCreary and stepson Christopher Howell, along with three grandchildren and one step grandson.
A graveside service will be conducted at Matagorda Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018 in Matagorda, TX. Donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (lls.org) in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated.
