William Gordon GASS(1949 - 2017)
GASS, William Gordon Gass Jr., William Gordon 1949-2017, Bill Gass, son to William Gordon (DECD.) and Josephine Frances Gass (DECD.) of Santa Rosa, passed away peacefully near his home in Scottsdale, AZ on December 9th, 2017. He was surrounded by many loved
ones and close family members. Mr. Gass was born in Santa Rosa, and spent his childhood living in the family ranch-home off of Wallace road. He graduated from Santa Rosa High School (Class of 1968) and attended Sonoma State University and Texas A & M where
he graduated in 1975 with a degree in Agricultural Economics. It was there that he also met the love of his life, Joy (DECD.), to whom he was happily married for 30 years. As a young man, Bill dreamed of being a rancher like so many of his family members before
him had been, but chose to provide for his family working in the banking, insurance and financial industries. During his years in Santa Rosa he also served in many local and political organizations including The Rotary Club, The Sonoma County Fair, and 4-H/FFA
Clubs. Continuing education was very important to Bill. He received a teaching credential from UC Davis, briefly attended Law School, and late in life received a Master's in Business Administration from Arizona State University. Bill was finally able to circle
back on his agricultural roots when he returned to Northern California to serve as the Executive Director of the San Mateo County Farm Bureau between 2011 and 2015. In 2016 after a lifetime of hard work and helping others, Bill retired to Scottsdale, AZ where
he found love and great happiness with new wife Janel Willert. In addition to his wife, Mr. Gass is survived by son Will Gass and his wife Amira of Los Angeles, CA, son Bert J Gass of Phoenix, Arizona, daughter Bonnie Gallagher, her husband Gregg and their
two children Joy and Rex, of Atlanta, GA, and of course Chief, his beloved Great Dane. Private family services will be held on December 28, 2017. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the V Foundation for Cancer Research in memory of William "Bill" Gordon
