Robert EGENOLF(1933 - 2017)
EGENOLF, Robert Vincent 1933 - 2017 Dr. Robert Vincent (Bob) Egenolf passed away quietly at home with his family on his Wimberley Ranch, December 4, 2017. He was 84. Bob Egenolf was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana and attended Indiana University. Upon graduation, he was commissioned a 2nd Lt in the U.S. Air Force, attained the rank of Captain and was assigned as a navigator on multiple types of aircraft. In 1958, Bob married the love of his life, Lou Paula Davenport, a nursing student he met while stationed in Houston, Texas at Ellington Field. Together they raised six children and, in 1970, moved to Wimberley, Texas. During this time, Bob Egenolf and his wife were founding members of the North Hays County EMS which provided ambulance service to Wimberley and the surrounding area. He also earned a Master's Degree from Southwest Texas State and a PhD from Texas A&M in Accounting. He taught college accounting for 27 years, first at UT-San Antonio, and later at the University of Texas at Austin School of Business, particularly enjoying his work with the Honors Program students there. He loved fishing, being outdoors and simply enjoying the natural world around him. Husband, Father, Rancher, Professor and Military Veteran, Bob Egenolf is survived by his six children, 18 grandchildren, one great-grand daughter in Texas and his sister Helen Patterson and brother Joseph Egenolf of Indiana. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church located at 26160 Ranch Rd 12, Dripping Springs, TX 78620.
