Elmer Ligon Elkins(1928 - 2017)
ELKINS, Elmer Ligon Elmer Ligon Elkins was born January, 25, 1928, in Dallas TX; he passed away December 24, 2017. Preceded by his parents, Elmer and Ester Ligon Elkins. Elmer graduated from Adamson High School where he met his wife to be Thelma King (Toogie). He graduated from Texas A&M, class of 1949, after serving three years in the Army Signal Corps, mostly in Germany. Elmer and Toogie married in June 1950. They have two children, Pamela and her husband Mitchell Breier, and Randy Elkins. Elmer was employed at Texas Instruments for 37 years, retiring as Vice-President of Semi Conductor Division. Elmer loved his family, golf, and flying as a private pilot. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 4, at 3:00p.m. at Edgemere Retirement Community, 8523 Thackery St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to A&M/Corps of Cadets/Corps of Cadets Scholarships at https://www.txamfounda tion.com/give.aspx.
