Hugh Quentin McGinty
November 3, 1919 - December 23, 2017

Hugh Q. McGinty, 98, born November 3, 1919 passed away peacefully in El Paso, Texas on December 23, 2017. He was born and raised in Barstow, Texas. He attended Texas A&M and had a 27 year career in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Ariana McGinty; sisters Bernice and Ruth; and son-in-law John Swann. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years Bernice McGinty. He is survived by his sister Louise; daughter and son-in-law Bernadette and James Carter; daughter Denise Swann; grandson Wolf Carter; grandson Whit Carter and his wife Erin; as well as numerous family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm, Tuesday, January 02, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Graveside Services with Full Military Honors at 11:00am, Wednesday, January 03, 2018 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Donations may be made in his name to the El Paso Chapter of the National Flag Foundation, website: elpasoflag.org or the American Red Cross.
