Edgar Raymond 'Ed' Musser
April 26, 1931 ~ December 13, 2017 (age 86)

Edgar Raymond “Ed” Musser, 86, of Canyon, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Olsen, pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Brooks Chapel.

Ed Musser was born on April 26, 1931 in Amarillo to H. E. and Cleo Smith Musser. He graduated from Groom High School and then received his Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M College. He married Patsy Holland on December 27, 1955 in Lockney. Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1953-1956 and then was a pilot for United Airlines for 34 years. He and Patsy moved to Canyon in 1993 and were very active members of the First Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was also a member of The Gideons International and after retirement, enjoyed being active with TBM Camp Builders from 1995-2002. Ed was proud of his five boys and supported them in all of their activities growing up. He was even more proud of his grandchildren.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Faye Scott, two brothers, Ralph and Bob Musser, and a sister-in-law, Joan Musser. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Musser, of the home; five sons, Robert Musser and wife, Donna of Conway, AR, Thomas Musser of Lubbock, William Musser of Prescott, AZ, James Musser and wife, Kristen of Rolla, MO, and Joseph Musser and wife, Sarah of Nacogdoches; sister, Aileene Williams and husband, Charles of Tulia; two brothers, Bill Musser of Groom, TX and Yuma, AZ, and Tom Musser and wife, Ann of Angleton; ten grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to The Canyon Gideons, in support of the Bible Ministry, PO Box 405, Canyon, TX 79015.
