Kenneth "Ken" M. Midkiff passed away on November 11, 2017, at the age of 85. Ken was born in Brinkley, Arkansas and attended Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. After graduation, he immediately joined the U.S.
Air Force and was stationed in Korea for 2 years during the Korean War. When Ken returned home, he married his high school sweetheart, Juanice Baxley, and attended Texas A&M University where he graduated with a degree in architectural and constructional engineering. Later in life Ken discovered, much to his surprise, that having a background in architecture did not automatically guarantee a win while playing the game Pictionary.
Ken worked in various construction projects throughout Texas and retired from Mobil Oil Corporation before moving to Sun City, Arizona. Ken is survived by his son Kenneth, Jr.; brothers Tom (JoAn) and Mike (Pat); and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday December 2, 2017 at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85020.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers and staff of Home Instead and Sacred Heart Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sunshine Service of Sun City, 9980 W. Santa Fe Dr., Sun City, AZ 85351 or the Sun City area"s The Book Trader, 14806 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ 85351 would be appreciated.
