“1966 Graduate” of Bishop Dunne Catholic High School


William Francis (Bill) Rick, (age 69), 5th generation of a prominent Dallas family, went from sleeping in the arms of his chair to awakening in the arms of his Savior. He was born, with his identical twin brother, on Texas Independence day 1948 to Charles and Helen Rick at the old St. Paul’s Hospital in downtown Dallas. He graduated from St. Cecilia’s School (Dallas), Bishop Dunne Catholic High School (Dallas). Texas A&M University (College Station) (BA, mathematics), United States Air Force Communications-Electronics Operations School (Biloxi, Mississippi), and University of Dallas (MBA, finance). He was a smart, intelligent individual who was able to work in many industries (Military, Retail, Construction, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Finance) in a multitude of roles. He served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam era as a Crypto/Communication-Electronics Officer at March Air Force, California and later in Iran, installing Microwave stations for the Shah of Iran. He was President, CEO of Rick Furniture Company. He was COO of Buzzard Construction Company. He served many diverse clients as an experienced, professional management consultant. He is remembered by his dear and closest friends, Kimberley Gyurik, Brian Cohen, and John Michael Gore - a dear friend and colleague; and especially by his graduating classmates of the "class of 1966" from Bishop Dunne Catholic High School. He is survived by his daughter Johanna, her husband Jon, grandchildren Madeleine and Brennan; his youngest daughter Julia; his older sister Lucia, his older brother Louis, his twin brother Bob; and dozens of nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces. " Bill's remains will be interred at the National Cemetery in Dallas with full Honor Guard on a later date in December." God Bless You, Bill.
