JAMES PRICE "DOC" RITTER, SR.

James Price “Doc” Ritter, Sr., 91, of Beaumont, died Saturday, November 18, 2017. He was born on December 1, 1925, in Nederland, to Dainy Price Ritter and Booty Augustus Ritter.

Jim retired as a dentist after thirty years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II. Jim was an influential entrepreneur in Southeast Texas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and reading.

Survivors include his sons, Jim Ritter, Jr. and his wife, Sherry, of Beaumont; Allan Ritter and his wife, Peggy, of Nederland; and John Ritter and his wife, Sarah, of Silsbee; daughter, Rev. Pat Ritchie and her husband, Maurice, of Beaumont; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Brown Ritter; and his brother, Allan Ritter.

Memorial contributions for Mr. Ritter may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 815 Market Street, Galveston, Texas 77550.

A graveside service for Mr. Ritter will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
