Jeffrey William Janner

June 12, 1960 - October 29, 2017
Resided in Austin, TX

Jeffrey William Janner was born June 12, 1960 to Otto Janner Jr. and Christine Kelling Janner in Brenham, TX. He was their youngest child and only son. He was the oldest male grandchild of Elsie Winkleman and Otto Janner, Sr.
Jeff grew up in Brenham and Washington County, which he thought "was a piece of heaven right here in Texas." He was baptized and confirmed in the First United Methodist Church, sang in their youth choir and played tuba in the Brenham High School Band.
Jeff and his friends and cousins(and there are a lot of Janner and Kelling cousins), grew up roaming, fishing and playing on his grandparent's farm, swimming and shooting at Gun and Rod Club and sharing music on their summer youth choir tours and at all band events. Jeff also loved the outdoors. He loved any and all animals and flirted with all the girls and women. He had a way with them all, young and old. He graduated from Brenham High School in 1978.
While at Texas A&M University, Jeff took up individual sports including fencing, which he later shared with his son, Jarod, scuba diving which he shared with his wife and a lifelong hobby of photography. He met the love of his life, Cayton Dugan, there in fall of 1982 and they quickly became best friends. Jeff left school to go to work in Houston and when Cayton graduated and moved there, too, they started dating, but moved apart when she moved to Austin in 1985 and he moved to California shortly after. They met up again, realized that they had really loved each other all along and were finally married on September 1, 1991 and made their home in Austin where they both have worked in the computer field since.
They were blessed with one son, Jarod Michael on March 22, 1999. Jeff became a father figure to a lot of boys and girls as Jarod grew and he and Cayton supported Balcones Baseball, Bethany United Methodist Church, Pack 162 and Troup 146 of the Cub and Boy Scouts, the ASPCA and a small herd of dogs and cats.
Jeff is survived by Cayton and Jarod, his father and mother, and sister and brother-in-law, Vicki and David Christianson, and sister, Diana Janner and several aunts, uncles and many of all those Janner and Kelling cousins.
Memorial Services will be held at Bethany United Methodist Church on Saturday, 11/04/2017 at 10:00am, 10010 Anderson Mill Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jeff's memory are made to Bethany UMC or First United Methodist Church of Brenham, ASPCA, or Capital Blood and Tissue Bank in Austin, the American Cancer Society or any Boy Scout or Cub Scout pack or troop.
