1962-2017
Jill fought pancreatic cancer with courage and grace for one year. She left a great legacy of love in this earthly life from which she passed on November 1, 2017, in Houston, TX. She spent much of her time at M.D. Anderson comforting and ministering to other
patients, who were also suffering. Jill was born on April 12, 1962 in Talara, Peru where her father was a Petroleum Engineer with Exxon. Jill was preceded in death by her father Fred Mutschler and step father Joseph Fontenot. She is survived by her mother,
Jackie Mutschler Fontenot, brother Steven Mutschler of Conroe, TX, and beloved Aunt and Uncle, Terri and Milton Swift of Montgomery, TX. Jill was a consummate learner and loved teaching students to love English and also teaching ESL to the foreign students
at Rice University. She taught at Alief School District, Lone Star College, and Rice University. She enjoyed teaching her foreign students kicker dancing, driving and many things about our culture. She received a BA, an MA and a PHD degree from Texas A&M and
an MBA from Texas Women's University. She holds a real estate license and a certified medical writing certification. Many thanks to all her friends, who were like family. They stayed with her day and night for the past two months. There will be a memorial
service at a later date.
