Died: October 31, 2017
Daniel Clayton Holt, DVM, 38, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Ken McMeans officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the funeral home.
He was born May 20, 1979 in Odessa, Texas and married Jennifer Schafer May 20, 2006 in Big Spring.
Daniel graduated from Big Spring High School in 1997 and attended Howard College. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Tech University in 2002 and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A & M University in 2006. Daniel worked for Cobb Veterinary Clinic in Greenwood for 4 years before purchasing Sierra Animal Clinic in 2010. He loved all animals especially horses, he also loved fast cars.
He was an active member of College Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Holt; one son, Corey Holt; one daughter, Amethyst Holt; his parents, Gary and Patricia Holt all of Big Spring; two brothers, Christopher Holt of Odessa and Matthew Holt and wife, Kathy of Flower Mound; his grandfather, Marvin W. Holt of Odessa; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and a niece.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and his paternal grandmother.
The family suggests memorials to College Baptist Church Backpack Ministry, 1105 Birdwell Lane, Big Spring, Texas 79720.
