July 13, 1936 - January 1, 2017
Redmund Andrew McCowen, 81, born, July 13, 1936, in Beaumont, Texas, passed away, Friday, August 11, 2017 in Belleville, Illinois.
Redmund was known as "Andy" to close friends and family. He was a dedicated and very compassionate person. He married the love of his life, Charlotte Kaesberg, on November 6, 1965. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He continued his civil service in the Air Force working as a supply officer, until his retirement. Andy and his wife had such a passion for animals and adopted 9 dogs over the years. He was a loving husband, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents; Reddin and Percy (nee Jones) McCowen.
Surviving him are his loving wife of almost 52 years, Charlotte McCowen; his sister and brother-in-laws, Mary (William) Muren and Don (Sharee) Kaesberg and a number of dear nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
Memorials in his honor may be made to the Belleville Humane Society. Additional memorials and condolences may be shared online at www.valhallagardensandfuneralhome.com
In honor of Redmund, all cremation services will be held privately and rendered by Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois. Interment will take place in Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, Illinois.
