Randall "Randy" Troy Schulze Sr., of Richmond, TX., was born on May 20, 1949, in Texas City, TX., and passed away peacefully on Oct. 13, 2017, surrounded by family and friends.
A celebration of Randy's life will be held on Thurs., Oct. 19, 2017, at 11am at Faith United Methodist Church, 4600 FM 359, Richmond, TX.
Interment will be on Fri., Oct. 20, 2017, at 9:30am in Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Wanda Schulze.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Mary Schulze; son, Troy Schulze (Kayla); daughter, Stephanie Johnston; step-son, Michael Galvan (Kendra); grandchildren, Sloan, Noah and Lyla; brothers, Ed Schulze (Patrice) and Jim Schulze (Patty).
At the time of his death he was a Partner in Stancil Property Tax, LLC., serving a variety of clients throughout the U.S. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church where he led a Sunday school class for 17 years and served on several committees. Randy was also instrumental in establishing Fort Bend Ramps a non-profit group assisting people with mobility issues.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Faith United Methodist Church, Richmond, TX., 77406, in Randy's name.

Randall “Randy” Troy Schulze Sr.
Randall (Randy) Troy Schulze Sr., of Richmond, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 13 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Randy was born May 20, 1949, in Texas City, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Wanda Schulze.
He is survived by Rose Mary, his loving and caring wife of 25 years. Randy felt so blessed to have God bring her into his life with His perfect timing. He is also survived by his son, Troy Schulze and his wife Kayla of Houston; daughter Stephanie Johnston and granddaughter Sloan Johnston; step-son Michael Galvan, wife Kendra, and their children Noah and Lyla. Randy has two brothers, Ed Schulze and Jim Schulze.
Randy’s children and grandchildren were always of immense pride and importance to him. He loved spending time with them and enjoying their many activities as both children and adults. They are all very talented and their activities have included acting, golfing, dancing, gymnastics, swimming, coaching, arts and crafts, horseback riding and many others. Their family trips have been a source of many wonderful memories. He leaves them with a great sense of knowing they can accomplish anything they put their mind to with God’s grace, hard work and passion. He also feels blessed to have had two wonderful daughters-in-law who he loved dearly.
Whether traveling with Rose Mary, friends and family to beautiful mountains, lakes, beaches and Aggie football games, having tea parties and flying kites with grandkids his greatest joy was being with those he loved.
Randy had a keen wit and a wonderful sense of humor which endeared him to many. He was fond of telling his jokes and stories with anyone who would listen. He also has many great memories of his golfing and fishing buddies, including his brothers Ed and Jim. Their many trips were filled with great fellowship, laughter and camaraderie.
After graduating from Dickinson High School he attended Texas A&M University, graduating in 1971 with a B.S. Degree in Petroleum Engineering. While attending Texas A&M he was fortunate to be the Squadron Commander of Squadron 4, the Outstanding Cadet Unit in the Corps of Cadets his senior year.
His “Aggie Family” and their support throughout the years was a source of immense pride and honor. It is truly “The Spirit of Aggieland” and it can only be explained through the love, loyalty and unselfishness his “Aggie Family” expressed every day. These are some of the greatest men and women you’ll ever meet.
Upon graduation, he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the USAF and reported for Undergraduate Pilot Training. Later he was assigned to fly HC-130’s for the 31st Air Rescue and Recovery Squadron at Clark AB, the Philippines. This resulted in a number of successful rescue operations in Southeast Asia. While in the Air Force he received an M.S. Degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.
Randy left the Air Force in 1975 as a Captain and began a career in the oil and gas business as an engineer in oil and gas production and later evolved into Property Tax Consulting for independent oil and gas and related companies. At the time of his death he was a Partner in Stancil Property Tax LLC serving a variety of clients throughout the United States. He would like to thank all of his Stancil “family” for their unwavering love and support.
Randy was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Richmond, TX, for over 25 years. He served on several committees and was Chairman of the Administrative Board on two separate occasions. He was committed to encouraging Church members in two critical areas – Discipleship and Missions. He led a Sunday School Class for 17 years, inspired others to take Discipleship classes (especially Disciple 1 of the Discipleship Series) and led others to participate in the Walk to Emmaus.
Randy was also instrumental in establishing Fort Bend Ramps (FBR), a non-profit group formed to assist anyone with personal mobility issues. FBR has provided over 60 wheelchair ramps for anyone in need. This group of volunteers has been recognized by Adult Protective Services and The Lawrence Jackson II Foundation. This group of dedicated volunteers and financial supporters were a profound inspiration to Randy, the clients and all those who crossed their paths.
There will be a celebration of Randy’s life Thursday, October 19, 11am, at Faith United Methodist Church, 4600 FM 359, Richmond, TX.
