Eugene Wesley Ross, Sr
Eugene Wesley Ross, Sr. 82, died October 12, 2017 at his winter residence in Okeechobee FL. He was born September 23, 1935 in Derry, New Hampshire to Raymond and Elinor (Caldwell) Ross. Gene, a resident of Holderness for 19 years, was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Ashland.

Gene was Vocational Director in Laconia and Manchester, New Hampshire, Assistant Vocational Director for the State of New Hampshire, and Superintendent of Schools in Manchester and Goffstown, New Hampshire. He was a member of the New Hampshire School Superintendents Association, Keene State College Alumni Association, Texas A&M Alumni Association, The Elks Lodge, and the Squam Lakes Association.

He enjoyed playing golf, coffee in the morning every day with his sons, breakfast at the Sugar Shack with Helen and Bill on the weekends, visits from the grandchildren, traveling in his motorhome, boat rides on Squam and heading south for the winter.

Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, “Connie” Constance Ross and his son, Gene, Jr.

He is survived by his sons, Raymond Ross (Debbie), of Bedford, NH and Doug Ross, of Holderness, NH; daughter, Helen Benton (Bill), of Bedford, NH; daughter-in-law, Kathie Ross, of Holderness, NH; nine grandchildren; and sister, Jane Kageleiry (Peter), of Derry.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday October 28, 2017 from 11am to 1 pm at the Dupuis Funeral Home 11 Hill Avenue in Ashland. A graveside service will be held at Trinity Church Yard Cemetery, Route 175 in Holderness on Saturday October 28, 2017 at 2pm. Following the Services, everyone is welcome to join the family at 45 Perkins Lane in Holderness. Donations may be made to the Squam Lakes Association, 534 Route 3, Holderness, NH 03245.
