Bolton S. "Bo" Williams

Bolton Stewart Williams, age 77, departed this life on October 11, 2017. Bo was born in Bay City, TX, to Preston Bruce Williams and Margaret Ellen Crow Williams. He graduated from Bay City High School, where he played varsity football and developed his lifelong interest in photography, even setting up a darkroom at home as a teen. Bolton obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees in biology at Sam Houston State University. After teaching in public schools for several years, he earned his PhD in Marine Zoology at Texas A&M University and embarked upon a long and successful career as a dedicated environmental scientist, working for A&M Research Foundation, Texas Instruments, Normandeau Associates, and Texas Municipal Power Agency. He was appointed to the Energy Reliability Council of Texas Environmental Committee. After retiring in 2003, Bo remained active in his community and served on the Corinthian Point Homeowners Assn. Board of Directors.
Bo was a man of many talents and passionate interests. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a gourmet cook, world traveler, voracious reader, talented photographer and artist. He appreciated good food and fine wine but his heart belonged to his family. Bolton was a devoted and supportive husband, father, and grandfather. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his family and being the much-loved "Poppa" to his grandsons.
Bolton is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jerilynn Adams Williams of Willis; his daughter Jennifer Williams Moore, her husband James Moore III, and grandsons James "Quattro" Moore IV and Atticus Moore, all of Mill Valley, CA; brother Francis Williams and wife Jennifer Molhagen and niece Kelsey Williams, all of Houston; and sister Ellen Kilgore and husband Keith Kilgore of Conroe. He is also survived by brother-in-law Clifford Bang, sister-in-law Jacque Dearen, an a host of nieces and nephews, all of Houston. Special thanks to Bo's daytime caregivers Cindy Parker and Misty Rankin.
A celebration of Bo's life will be held beginning at 1 PM, on November 18, 2017, at the clubhouse of their loving and supportive neighborhood of Corinthian Point in Willis, TX. Later, a private family service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Matagorda, TX, followed by the scattering of Bo's ashes over his beloved Gulf of Mexico. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Ocean Conservancy's efforts to restore the Gulf or to the American Brain Foundation, studying vascular deficiencies.
