DAVID R. BECK

A Memorial Mass will be held for David R. Beck, 74, of Kilgore at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017, at Christ The King Catholic Church in Kilgore with Very Reverend Daniel P. Dower, STL, VF and Very Reverend John L. Gomez, JLC, VG as co-celebrants under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. A rosary will be said on Sunday evening at 6:30 at the funeral home with the family receiving friends until 8 p.m. Mr. Beck completed his earthly journey on Saturday, October 7, 2017 in his home.

David was born on August 11, 1943, in Kilgore to the late James Adams and Mary Lucy Beck. He received his Bachelor degree from Texas A&M College Station and worked as an aerospace manufacturing engineer. David received his gunsmithing degree from Trinidad Jr. College in Colorado. He enjoyed being a gunsmith and produced many firearms as well as helped his friends maintain their guns. David also enjoyed fishing, grilling and smoking meats and using his woodworking skills. He made numerous toys, toy boxes, shelving units, etc for his family and friends.
David was a faithful and active member of Christ The King Catholic Church in Kilgore as well as the Knights of Columbus. His family and friends were the source of his strength and spending time with them was when he was happiest.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jeff Beck and his wife Lori of Kilgore, Debbi Goertz of Bastrop, Julie Hope and her husband Robbie of Lake Cherokee; grandchildren, Dillon Hope, Jaela Beck-Lambert, Jessie Hope, Abby Goertz, William Watkins and Chris Beck; nieces, Natasha Benchimol of Richardson and Nicole Barbieri of California; and his companion, Kitty Frye of the Woodlands. Also, left to carry on his legacy are numerous friends and other loving family members.

Preceding David in death are his parents, sister Susan Griffith and son Eric Beck.

Memorials may be made in his name to Christ The King Catholic Church of Kilgore Building Fund, 1508 Broadway Blvd., Kilgore, TX, 75662.
