SANTA FE, NM

It is with deep and heavy sadness that we share the passing of Daniel John Weber of Athens, Texas and Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Dan was born June 26, 1953, in Abilene, Texas to the late Raymond Victor Weber and Emma Jean Frederick Weber. He passed away on October 10, 2017, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico following a courageous battle with dementia. May he rest in peace.

Growing up in Abilene, Dan attended St. Joseph's Academy, Central Catholic High School, and graduated from Cooper High School in 1971. He was an adventurous and inventive youth. Dan graduated from Texas A&M University in 1975 with a degree in Economics. He was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets, Company B-1, where he formed life long friendships.

During the years that Dan would find his life-love Adele and start a family, Dan worked as District Manager for Lone Star Gas Company in North Texas and Bryan-College Station. In 1986, Dan began a career that he loved as a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones. He established a new Jones office in Cameron, Texas, then, in 1988 took over an existing office in Athens, Texas. The greatest joy of Dan's career was the relationships he formed with his clients. Mentoring new Financial Advisors was a passion of Dan's and led to his position as an Edward Jones Regional Leader from 2001-2008. He became a Partner with Edward Jones in recognition of his dedication and leadership.

Dan's continuous civic engagement reflected his level of appreciation for the communities in which he lived. He absolutely loved to be outdoors, hiking, backpacking, and scuba diving trips with friends and family truly nurtured him. Dan sought connection with others and seemed to never meet a stranger. He will be remembered as an extraordinary person who inspired others to do and be better.

Dan was a playful and patient father. His two treasures, Cameron and Audra, brought him much delight and pride. Dan relished the joys of fatherhood, evident in deep and enduring friendships with his daughters and their friends.

The partnership that Dan and Adele shared was uncommon, especially as their commitment to one another deepened through adversity. Although the difficulties of his later years were significant, Dan found new creativity and loving friendships with Adele on the Rio Grande in Northern New Mexico.

Our dear Dan is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Adele Fambrough Weber; daughters, Cameron Weber of Albuquerque, NM and Audra Leigh Weber of Killeen, TX; sister, Rita Weber of Chapel Hill, NC; and brother, Joe Weber, Lt. Gen., USMC (ret.) and wife Brenda of Round Top, TX; several nieces and nephews; and one fine dog, Gus.

Dan's family is deeply grateful for the loving care he knew during his final three months. The peace and dignity Dan received from the caregivers at The Retreat and Hospice de la Luz of Rio Rancho, NM will not be forgotten.

We invite you to celebrate Dan's beautiful life on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Tara Winery Inn in Athens from 3:00PM to 6:00PM for a casual gathering of friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dan may be made to the Alzheimer's Alliance of Smith County, 211 Winchester Drive, Tyler, TX 75701, the Colorado Trail Foundation, 710 10th Street, Golden, CO 80401, or to the .
