Carl Adolph Peterson
October 5, 1930 - October 7, 2017

Memorial visitation for Carl Peterson, 87, of Lexington are scheduled for Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Youth Activity Center in Lexington with Pastor Chris Bruce officiating.

Carl Adolph “Mr. Pete” Peterson was born on October 5, 1930 in Lexington, Texas to Ernst Louis & Carrie Sophie (Friedle) Peterson. He was united in marriage to Earline (Hooper) Peterson on June 18, 1954 at Lexington Full Gospel Tabernacle Church by Rev. Ray Owens. This union was blessed with two children, David & Dianne. Carl served in the U.S. Army in Korea and attained the rank of Lieutenant. Carl graduated from Lexington High School in 1948 and attended Texas A & M where he graduated in 1952. Carl was employed by the Lexington Independent School District for 43 years starting in 1954. While at Lexington school he was a vocational Ag teacher, science teacher, Assistant high school football coach, high school head Girls basketball coach, high school principal and Superintendent. Carl’s joys in life were God, his family, Lexington School District, teaching adult Sunday school classes and raising cattle.

Carl passed away the morning of Saturday, October 7, 2017 at his residence in Lexington after a brief illness.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Franz Peterson, and one sister Louise Elzy.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Earline Peterson of Lexington; two children, David Peterson and his wife Debbie of Lexington, and Dianne Roberts of Lexington; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a church of your choice.
