Rick Golden, went to be with our Lord unexpectedly on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at his home outside of Houston, Texas. Rick was born on February 28, 1957 to Richard and Dorothy Golden. He swam for WT White High School in Dallas and the Texas A&M Swim Team. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in Industrial Distribution, class of 80’. Rick cherished his relationships. He made every effort to stay in close contact with friends both personal (Fightin’ Aggie Reunion Types) and professional. Topping the list of Rick’s interests, Texas Aggies and Dallas Cowboys football, of course. Rick also loved history so many of the vacations he and Liz took were planned around historical sites and events. Italy, especially Lake Como, were among his favorites.
Rick was one of the lucky people who could say that he truly enjoyed his job. He was a skilled salesman and enjoyed working with his co-workers and customers. In the words of his boss, “He was one of the very best – caring for our customers and truly making a difference.”
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Richard N. Golden.
He is survived by his wife, Liz Golden; his daughter, Allison O’Brien (Aggie, Class of 18’); his mother, Dorothy Golden of Dallas; his brother John Golden, of Harleton, Texas; his sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Dennis Irby, of Dallas; and his niece and nephew Rachel Golden of Houston and John Woods Golden of Atlanta.
A Celebration of Life will be held for his family on Saturday in his home town. Condolences may be left at www.shmfh.com.
