Arthur Charles Fischer

A. Charles "Charlie" Fischer passed away in Austin, TX on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the age of 75.

Charlie is predeceased by his parents, A. Charles "Bob" and Esther Fischer, and his wife, Penelope B. Fischer.

Charlie is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife Wendy L. Fischer; brothers David Fischer, Daniel Fischer and James Fischer; children Abby Zanarini (Jeff), Nancy Fischer (Eddie Byrd), Rachel Lefferdink (Chris) and Steve Thompson (Britt); and loving grandchildren Alison, Lauren, and Dylan.

Charlie was born in Concrete, TX in 1942 and grew up on a dairy farm near Cuero, TX. He graduated in 1964 from Texas A&M University where he earned his B.S. degree in Animal Science. While at Texas A&M, Charlie was the Commanding Officer of his military company, a Distinguished Military Graduate and commissioned as an Officer in the U.S. Army upon graduation.

Charlie served from July 1964 to August 1966 in the U.S. Army as a field artillery officer stationed in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.

In February of 1967 Charlie joined The Dow Chemical Company as an agricultural chemical sales representative. His career with Dow spanned 37 years across 6 states, Brazil and France. He retired in 2004 as the president and CEO of Dow AgroSciences.

Charlie enjoyed his retirement years and filled his time traveling, playing golf, hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends and family. Charlie loved watching all sports and especially the Aggies.
