Moliere "Bud" Scarborough, age 91, passed away at his Midland home surrounded by his family on September 3, 2017. He was born on June 22, 1926 in El Paso, TX to Moliere and Polly Scarborough. He attended Ysleta High School and received his BS Degree in Business
from Texas A & M University in 1947, after serving as a radioman in the Navy from 1944 to 1946. He roughnecked in West Texas for a period of time before working for Sinclair Oil Company in Midland as a draftsman. He joined the FBI as a Special Agent in December
1950 and married the love of his life, Eleanor M. Scarborough of San Antonio, Texas on June 26, 1951. Bud resigned from the FBI in September 1957, and he went to work for Hunt Oil Company in Houston, Texas as a landman. He was transferred to Tyler, Texas and
opened Hunt's Tyler office around 1962, he served as District Landman until he resigned in October 1983, going to work for Delta Drilling Company as East Texas District Landman. Bud left Delta when Kerr-McGee took over DeltaUS and closed the Tyler office.
In May, 1986, he joined Citizens First National Bank Trust Department, remaining there until he retired as Senior Vice President and Trust Officer in December 1996.
Bud was an Eagle Scout, CPL and received the Brantley Jackson Memorial award as Landman of the Year in 1970. He was a member of the SAR, ETAPL, AAPL, Christ Episcopal Church, Masonic Lodge #1371, Scottish Rite and Sharon Temple.
He was a wise, gifted man whose counsel was sought by many throughout his life.
Bud is predeceased by his parents; his wife, Eleanor Scarborough, and a sister, Catherine S. Irwin. He is survived by: son, Stuart (Sandy), son, Lee (Debby), and son, Brian; along with 6 Grandchildren: Susan (Nick) Gaultney, Courtney (Michael) Fowler, Martha
Scarborough, Smith Scarborough, Houston Scarborough, and Kieffer Scarborough; and 3 Great-Grandchildren: Ryan Fowler, Maggie Fowler and Jackson Gaultney; his sister, Florence (Bob) Schlumpf; nephew, Eric (Debbie) Schlumpf, niece, Cindy Schlumpf Gilmore, and
Kevin (Tracey) Schlumpf .
A celebration of Bud's life will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in Tyler, Texas. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
