Craig Albert Owen, age 70, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in San Antonio, TX. He was born Christmas Day, 1946, in Nevada, Missouri, to Gene and Dorris Owen. The Owen's settled in Houston in 1952 and later Craig attended Texas A&M with a golf scholarship
and enjoyed playing on the golf team all 4 years. Craig was also treasurer of the Finance Fraternity at A&M. Craig joined the marine reserves following college, while earning his MBA in finance from University of Texas. He went on to become a financial advisor
in 1972 and practiced for the next 45 years. Craig married Helen Owen on St. Patrick's Day 1990 and enjoyed 27 years of marriage. They settled in the San Antonio area in 2008.
Craig was a dedicated financial advisor and loyal friend. He loved the game of golf, continuing to improve his swing past his 70th birthday. He was a jokester; always keeping his family, friends and acquaintances laughing. He was a lover of cars, cokes and
Whataburger. Craig was an ardent believer in Jesus Christ and dedicated member of Cornerstone Church. Craig was a wonderful husband, father and stepfather, and was the love of Helen's life.
Craig is survived by his wife Helen Owen, daughter Laura Owen, stepdaughter Kelly Moore, her husband Austin, their three children Jonathan, David and Daniel along with expected son Samuel, as well as Craig's big sister, Genie Owen, and her family.
Craig was loved and is deeply missed by his friends and family, who take comfort in knowing he is now free.
His memorial service will take place at the Veda Chapel of Cornerstone Church located at 18755 Stone Oak Parkway, San Antonio, TX 78258 on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 11am. Doors will open at 10am.
