Donald Bullock Browning, age 80 went home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 15, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born April 24th, 1937 in Wharton, TX. A graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, TX he was awarded a football scholarship to Texas A&M University in 1955. In the summer after his freshman year of college, he married his high school sweetheart Carolyn Smith on June 2, 1956. After graduation and earning a master's degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M, he served a two year commission in the United States Air Force at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, TX. Upon release from his duties in the Air Force, he and Carolyn relocated back to Bryan, TX where he was a Certified Public Accountant, mostly in his own practice, for over 40 years. He and Carolyn raised a son and a daughter, and remained in Bryan until the ravages of Alzheimer's forced a move to Houston, TX for extended care in 2015.

Donald was an avid hunter and fisherman his entire life. More importantly, he was an honest, decent, Christian man, as well as devoted husband and father. He and Carolyn were members of Central Baptist Church in Bryan for over 50 years. Donald served as a deacon and deacon chairman, as well as other functions over the years. He and Carolyn were particularly active in visiting the sick and the elderly.

Donald was preceded in death by his mother and father, Tom and Pat Browning, and his beloved wife of 60 years, Carolyn.

He is survived by his son, Paul and wife Brenda; his daughter, Marsa and husband Butch Alsandor. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Brittany and husband Jason Olcott , granddaughter, Shelby Savoy and grandson, Thomas Savoy, and numerous relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday, September 17 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Bryan City Cemetery with Reverend Chris Osborne officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Central Baptist Church of College Station Children's Building Fund of to the at atz.org.
