July 8, 1936 - August 29, 2017
Raymond Philibert Garcia, 81, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29th, at Huntsville Hospital. Ray was a loving and gentle man who will be greatly missed. Ray was born in Corpus Christi, TX and earned his mechanical engineering degree at Texas A&M. He moved to Huntsville to join NASA MSFC in 1960 where he was a propulsion engineer for 44 years. Ray was a husband of 48 years and a father of 3. He loved his children deeply and supported their growth and adventures throughout their lives.
Ray was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jonathan Garcia, and parents, Ray and Olivia Garcia. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Garcia; son, Raymond Garcia; daughter, Renee Garcia; granddaughter, Lucia Nuel; and numerous extended family who loved him as a brother, uncle, and friend.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at Maple Hill Cemetery.
