A spouse, a son, a brother, a friend, and a Partner. Chris Cappelli passed away on August 23rd of 2017 at the age of 30. Chris was someone who always made decisions based on facts and logic. Chris always worked to stay ahead and constantly planned everything out. He was born to John and Tammy Cappelli in San Antonio, Texas at Methodist Hospital. He had an older brother, John III, and a younger brother, Cody. As a child, in his spare time, Chris loved to work with animals, visit car shows, listen to music, watch movies, and play basketball. As an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, he loved the outdoors and was an accomplished Scout. In addition to graduating in the top 4% of his class from Judson High School in 2005, he will be remembered by classmates for his accomplishments in the arts program and being a member of the German club. Chris earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and a Minor in Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2009. Graduating from Texas A&M was one of the proudest moments in Chris' life, and equally so was watching his brother do so in 2017. He fully embodied the Spirit of Aggieland in everything he did and embraced the traditions there with his whole body and spirit. Some of his most notable accomplishments at Texas A&M include being an introductory member of the Leadership Living Learning Community (L3C), a member of Lambda Sigma Society, a member of the Biomedical Association, and holding a Resident Advisor position for several years during his time there. Attending any and all Aggie sporting events was something Chris loved to embrace each and every day. Chris became best friends with Jessie Loughran and James Kennedy, Michael Brehm, Adam and Amanda Frenzel, Brian Jack and Christine Almazar, Isaac and Katie Williams, Patrick and Brittany Green, Ernesto Gonzalez, and all of his Aggie Bonfire Nerds: Thor, Stream, Moose, Becca, Old Ballz, Katie, etc. He had a great mentorship with his fellow HEB owners such as Donna and Tom Theriot, Armando Perez, David Solis, Eli Warren, Albert Hargrove, and many more.

Chris was married on May 21st of 2016 to Nicole Alexandra Fernandez at Avery Ranch Golf Club in Austin, Texas. Some of his favorite pursuits were being outdoors, watching the history channel, collecting rare spirits, finding full-bodied cigars, traveling the world, visiting wineries and breweries, playing games, and being with his friends. He emphatically loved Aggie sports, Spurs basketball, and Cowboys football. As an active traveler with his wife Nicole, some of his favorite vacations included Miami, Seattle, Las Vegas, Chicago, New Orleans his honeymoon to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, his road trip to Wilmington in Delaware, his high school trip to North Carolina, his college ski trip to Del Norte in Colorado, his cruise throughout the Caribbean Islands, and the numerous spots throughout Texas.

Chris was a proud Partner, owner, and Store Director at H-E-B for five years. As an active member in his community, Chris was involved in the A&M Century Club for the Association of Former Students and supported all of the charitable events sponsored by H-E-B in Houston.

As an animal lover, Chris' first pet was a labrador named Ashley, and had three cats named Jack, TooToo, and Whiskers. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a charitable contributions to a scholarship fund through Texas A&M Association of Former Students. Please go to tx.ag/memorialgiving and fill out "Chris Cappelli" for the name and "2009" for the class year. This will fulfill one of Chris' bucket list goals of creating a scholarship fund for first generation students like Chris was. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
